Cultural Monuments in the Town

The Pilníkov Urban Heritage Zone includes the sculpture group of the Assumption of Mary. Kostel Nejsvětější Trojice is also protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic. Both points give a visit to the town a cultural focus and make Pilníkov interesting for travellers who want to combine historical sights with experiences in nature on their excursions.

Views and Landscape of the Krkonoše Foothills

The Na Spravedlnosti viewpoint above Pilníkov offers a view of the panorama of the Krkonoše Mountains. It also features a panoramic map of the eastern Krkonoše Mountains, which illustrates the landscape area. Another special feature of the surroundings lies in the waterways: the Mlýnský, Prkenný, Starobucký, Vlčický and Volanovský streams flow into and form the Pilníkovský stream.

Easy Trails and a Signposted Cycle Route

The Cesta za vyhlídkou educational trail leads through the peaceful landscape of the Krkonoše foothills in Pilníkov to a viewpoint overlooking the surrounding area. It is suitable for families with children and recreational tourists and can be completed without significant effort. It therefore offers an opportunity to combine exercise and views at a more relaxed excursion pace.

For exploring on two wheels, the Pilníkov–Vlčice–Hrádeček–Chotěvice–Kocléřov–Pilníkov cycle route is available. It is suitable for recreational cyclists, more experienced cyclists and families with e-bikes. The established route leads through several towns and villages, thereby offering an independent way to get to know the area around Pilníkov by bicycle.

Festivals with a Fair, Children’s Day and Traditional Foods

The Pilníkovský masopust has been held annually as a traditional event since 2016, except during the COVID pandemic. At the masopust, stalls offer masopust pastries and traditional home-slaughter products, including Jelítka, Tlačenka, bread with lard, Prdelačka and Ovar. For families and children, the Pilníkovská pouť combines fairground attractions and competitions for children.

The traditional Pilníkovská pouť takes place together with Children’s Day. It was announced for Saturday, June 6, 2026, from 1:30 p.m.; for this announced event, a discounted fare for the attractions was also planned. The Pilníkovská pouť also includes a competition for the best fair pastry. Those who want to discover the town through its customs and foods will therefore find different impressions here than on a purely scenic excursion.
