Dolní Brusnice

Dolní Brusnice combines forest trails, small cultural monuments, and striking landscapes to create a varied destination for shared exploration. The Honzova Forest Trail, in particular, the chapels in and around the municipality, and trips to the reservoir, rock formation, and hilltop offer different perspectives on the area. Forest Trails for Explorers of All Ages

The Honzova Forest Trail lies in the forest southwest of and above Dolní Brusnice. It is intended for children and adults and offers several places to rest along the way: a tree stump with a table, a bench, and a willow-wicker igloo. This gives the forest trail its own stopping points for breaks and observation in addition to the physical activity. Families will particularly enjoy the alternation between the path through the forest and the simple resting places, without reducing the excursion to a single attraction.

Two educational trails also run around the Chapel of the Virgin Mary in Dolní Brusnice. Interactive information panels turn the trails into a combination of walking and discovery. A second Chapel of the Virgin Mary is located in Lázně pod Zvičinou and is open to the public. It was built at a spring in 1891 and consecrated in 1903. This makes it possible to combine different types of excursions when planning a trip: a forest trail with resting places, informative paths around the chapel, or a visit to a publicly accessible sacred building.

Chapels and Cultural Monument

Dolní Brusnice is also home to the water mill at house no. 11. It is classified as an immovable cultural monument and complements the natural excursion destinations with evidence of the area’s local architectural and usage history. The grounds of Hotel pod Zvičinou include an octagonal masonry chapel. The hotel is located in a resort and spa area that belongs to the municipality of Dolní Brusnice. Reservoir, Rock Formation, and Ridge

The reservoir on the Elbe called Tešnov, also known as Les Království, is located 4 km from Dolní Brusnice. It can be reached on foot via Bílá Třemešná and thus offers a clearly defined excursion destination for a day focused on the landscape. The protected Čertovy Hrady rock formation lies 6 km from Dolní Brusnice. It can be reached by a forest road through Bílá Třemešná. The two destinations differ clearly: one focuses on the reservoir on the Elbe, while the other is a protected rock formation.

The landscape also includes Vrch Kozel, which reaches a height of 556.9 metres. The summit area belongs to the municipality of Dolní Brusnice. Thus, in addition to its trails and cultural sites, the municipality also includes a high point. Another seasonal attraction is the Severka ski area. Ski operations there depend on sufficient natural snow, while the slope has artificial lighting. Severka is considered a family-friendly ski resort suitable for parents with children.
