The modernized facilities of the swimming pool complex complement cultural activities and hikes with relaxation and small-scale dining options.
Church and Historic Town Center
The Church of the Most Holy Trinity in Mlázovice is a branch church and was formerly a parish church. It is a state-recognized monument and was rebuilt in 1725 on the site of a wooden church already mentioned in 1360. The largest bell was cast in 1593; the clock comes from the dissolved Pavlánů Monastery in Nová Paka.
The square in Mlázovice has a regular rectangular layout dating from 1540. At that time, Mlázovice was granted market-town status as well as the right to hold annual markets and a coat of arms. A Marian column from the Hořice School of Sculpture has stood in its center since 1901. An obelisk erected in 1928 commemorates the victims of the First World War. In addition, plaques on many houses provide information about the history of the town and the individual buildings. The memorial stone from 1817 associated with Mlázovice and Šárovcova Lhota has been protected as a cultural monument since August 15, 2020.
Ridges, Forests and Trails
Mlázovice lies on the western edge of the Podzvičinsko Basin, on the ridges of Chlumy, Mlázovický Chlum and Hořický Chlum. Mezihoří, a district surrounded by deep forests and crossed by the Javorka River, belongs to the market town. In the area around Mlázovice, there were formerly twelve iron-rich springs and peat deposits associated with the former spa tradition.
A blue-marked hiking trail begins in Mlázovice, leads to Záduší, crosses the red ridge trail near Mount Maxinec and continues to Ostroměř railway station. The colored markings make orientation easier when a hike is combined with a tour of the town. Several hiking trails pass through Mezihoří; the area is visited by hikers and cyclists. Several bus routes also run through Mlázovice.
Spa History and Present-Day Facilities
The Mlázovice mud spa operated under constant medical supervision from 1898 onward. It was closed in 1953 as part of the reorganization of the healthcare system. Its bathing buildings, including the hotel and guesthouse, subsequently served as the basis for a social care facility for older people. The modernized facilities of the swimming pool complex in Mlázovice offer changing rooms, sanitary facilities, an outdoor shower, as well as opportunities for relaxation and small-scale dining.
