Boháňka lies at the foot of Chlumský vrch. The village is home to small cultural and memorial sites. From Boháňka, views extend north toward Zvičina and, beyond it, the Krkonoše Mountains. The discovery of the village therefore begins not with a single building, but with the interplay of landscape, paths and stone monuments.

Sculptures and trails through Boháňka

Hiking and cycling trails run through Boháňka. A particularly characteristic stop is the Boháňka open-air sculpture exhibition. Its sculptures are carved from hard sandstone from the KUKS quarry. The exhibition lies along a yellow-marked hiking trail and is also part of the international Cesta kamene route. This creates a connection between movement and art: the sculptures do not stand as a collection in an enclosed space, but meet you outdoors along a marked route. The open-air gallery of the student sculpture symposium is another tourist stop in Boháňka. The Boháňka–Skála summer cinema, located in a natural amphitheatre, provides a different cultural accent.

Historical markers in the village landscape

Boháňka is home to a Jan Hus monument dating from 1915, based on a design by František Bílek. There is also an old stone cross at a crossroads near the school building. Another cross stone stands in the forest northeast of Boháňka and is traditionally referred to as an atonement cross. These sites do not represent the same history, but rather different layers of local memory: the monument bears a complete year of origin, while the cross stones are defined by their location, traditional names and visible features. The historic cross stone is considered a Cyril-and-Methodius cross; the year 830 is visible on its front. Another notable point is the wayside shrine at the crossroads between Chloumek, Maňovice and Skála. It is usually dated to the 16th century. The stations therefore differ in date of origin, location and form: the monument stands in the village, the atonement cross in the northeastern forest, and the wayside shrine at a crossroads between three villages.

A destination for cultural and landscape interests

The cultural surroundings also include the Třebovětický Rondel. It lies about 300 metres from the village of Skála, is a listed monument and is protected by law. This precise location distinguishes it from the sites within Boháňka and makes it clear that exploration is not limited to a single village centre. Those looking for accommodation in Boháňka therefore find a base where marked trails, cycling routes, open-air art and historic roadside markers shape the character of the stay.
