A place with its own history and far-reaching views

Ostašov was founded in 1716 by František Karel Josef, a baron of Ostešov. Today, the different viewing directions are a key part of its special atmosphere. From the “Lipník side”, there is a panorama of Lipník and the more distant Moravské Budějovice. From the opposite “Petrov side”, the view stretches towards wooded hills and Sádek Castle. In very favourable weather, the peaks of the Alps can also be seen in the distance from Ostašov.

In suitable weather, the distinctive Alpine peaks of Schneeberg and Ötscher can be seen from the “Alpská vyhlídka” meadows.

Ponds, protected nature and the meadow pasque flower

There are several ponds around Ostašov. Numerous species of waterfowl can be found at Horák Pond in the surrounding area. The pond is also connected to Ostašov by Cycling Route 6: the route leads from Ostašov along a dirt track to Horák Pond.

A protected area lies nearby on Klučovský kopec, where the meadow pasque flower grows. The protected site was designated in 1982.

Cycling routes with different alignments

Ostašov lies on two cycling routes. Cycling Route 3 runs from Lipník via Ostašov and Petrůvky. Cycling Route 6 leads from Petrůvky via Ostašov to Klučovská hora and onwards to Střítež. Cycling Route 6 also leads from Ostašov along a dirt track to Horák Pond.

Products, production and local events

Both dates are in the past and should be understood as historical references to local event life.
