Podolí
Accommodation in Podolí
Podolí is a destination for anyone who wants to combine their stay with specific discoveries. The village brings together marked trails, signposted bike tours, memorial sites and a regional landscape and architectural tradition. This makes it possible to get to know the surroundings in different ways: on foot along designated routes, by bicycle on a marked connection or through individual reminders of local and regional history.
Gohialův kámen and memories of the past
A distinctive trace leads to the rock known as Gohialův kámen. A cross, a skull, the name Gohial and the year 1785 are carved into the rock. The site also commemorates a tragic event: a stone killed one of the stonemasons who made stone troughs there. This combination of inscription, year and伝 handed-down history makes the rock a specific destination for a historically connected discovery.
Gohialův kámen lies near the Bobrůvka River on the way towards Bobrová. Its location is therefore clearly connected with a particular direction through the landscape, without reducing the place to a single attraction. In Podolí itself, a memorial plaque to legionnaires was unveiled on 9 October 2011. Both references show different forms of remembrance and provide cultural points of interest during a stay.
Marked Trails and Educational Trail
Several designated routes are available for orientation in the surrounding area. The marked Mlynářská stezka runs through Podolí along roads III/36041 and III/3884. Its specific route therefore differs from that of an educational trail: a section of the Okolím Bobrové educational trail extends into the southeastern part of the municipality of Podolí.
Cycling Between Several Places
Podolí is also part of the “Mezi rybníky a lesy” route for a bike tour. The route also passes through Radešínská Svratka and Řečice. The marked bike tour is signposted with blue arrows and the number 2.
Another connection to regional cycling history is provided by the charity bike tour “SE ŽĎASEM NA KOLE DĚTEM ŽĎÁRSKÝMI VRCHY”, which passed through Podolí. The wording is in the past tense and therefore describes an event that took place, not automatically a current date.
Landscape and Regional Building Culture
Podolí lies in the “Novoměstsko–Bystřicko” landscape character area. In addition, the village belongs to the regional folk architecture zone “Horácký dům” (“House of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands”). These two classifications complement the specific trails and memorial sites with a regional perspective: when choosing accommodation in Podolí, you can therefore decide whether marked routes, bike tours, historical traces or integration into the landscape and building culture should be the main focus for you.
