Osové is a destination for travelers who want to combine nature, landscapes and a variety of excursion ideas. Almost half of the cadastral area consists of extensive forest complexes, especially in the south and west. At the same time, the Oslava runs along the eastern boundary of the cadastral area. These two elements give the area a distinct landscape character and offer families and other nature enthusiasts various starting points for planning their trip.

Forests, a River Valley and Special Natural Sites

The particularly valuable landscape and natural area of the Nesměř Valley lies along the Oslava. Those who enjoy exploring river landscapes and forest areas during their stay in the Czech Republic can choose this natural area as a focus of their plans. North of the built-up part of Osové, there is also the Osovák pond on an unnamed tributary of the Oslavička. Thus, in addition to the forest and river valley, a specific pond and smaller water features are also part of the local landscape.

Osové lies in a valuable landscape area used for recreation. The municipality is home to the Libenice VM002 locality, which is registered for specially protected species and regionally significant biotopes. Libenice VM002 comprises remnants of a mixed forest with species-rich ground vegetation. The municipality is also home to the commemorative tree “Dub v Nesměři”. For families who enjoy discovering different nature-related themes during their holiday, this creates several independent opportunities for discussion and observation, without implying any specific route or accessibility.

Educational Trail, Planned Connection and Horseback Riding

The “Balinského a Nesměřského údolí” educational trail runs through the cadastral area of Osové. Those who want to include a themed trail in their travel plans will find a clearly named connection to the landscapes around Baliny and the Nesměř Valley. There is also a reference to a planned 8-km connecting loop trail. It was intended to run from Baliny via Osové to the “Panské hájence” in Nesměř. The wording as a planned loop trail is important for planning and should not be equated with an already existing trail.

A different focus is offered by the JK Hort equestrian center in Osové (Osové 12). It focuses on Western riding, horseback riding, show jumping and agrotourism. This provides an additional way to give the stay a particular theme. Families can therefore weigh nature-related excursions, a visit to the educational trail and a focus on horses and rural activities against one another.

A Historical Anchor for Your Stay

History is also part of the area’s identity: the first written mention of Osové dates back to 1354. For travelers who want to get to know the landscape not only as a backdrop but also in its historical context, this date provides a tangible starting point. It adds a historical perspective to the nature-related themes without reducing Osové to its past.

Which Accommodation Suits Your Travel Plans

When looking for a hotel or other accommodation in Osové, it is worth deciding first what focus you want. If forests, the Oslava, the Nesměř Valley and the educational trail are central to your plans, your daily itinerary should look different from that of a stay focused primarily on horseback riding or agrotourism. The planned 8-km connecting loop trail also belongs more in long-term excursion planning than in a description of an offer that is already secured.
