Dobrá Voda combines protected wet meadows, fir-beech forests, a nature trail, a historic chapel, and a cycling route. The Dobrá Voda Natural Monument covers 5.21 ha; Šebeň lies in the cadastral area of Dobrá Voda u Křižanova within a 134 ha complex of acid-soil fir-beech forests. The two natural monuments differ significantly in landscape character and size.

Wet Meadows, Birds, and Special Plants

The Dobrá Voda Natural Monument covers 5.21 ha. It consists of preserved wet meadows along the Mastník stream, where, among other species, the broad-leaved marsh orchid and bogbean occur. Fifty-three bird species have been recorded in the Dobrá Voda protected area, including six specially protected species. The stream, meadows, plants, and birds form a closely connected natural area here.

Those interested in plants and birdlife can combine two observation themes in one place.

The Šebeň Educational Trail and Wood Ants

The Šebeň Natural Monument lies in the cadastral area of Dobrá Voda u Křižanova within a 134 ha complex of acid-soil fir-beech forests. The Šebeň Educational Trail is 3 km long and gives the exploration a clearly defined theme. The focus is the wood ant Formica polyctena: Šebeň protects more than 1,100 nests of this species and is home to the largest known contiguous complex of nests of this wood ant species in the Czech Republic.

Compared with the wet meadows of Dobrá Voda, the focus at Šebeň is on the forest. The wood ants give the educational trail its distinctive theme; the emphasis is not only on the forest as a landscape, but on a particular animal species.

A guide to the Šebeň Educational Trail is available at the information centre in Velké Meziříčí. The trail's length also helps visitors assess the scope of this nature-focused excursion.

Chapel with Local History and Cycling Route

The Chapel of Saints Cyril and Methodius also adds a historical note. Its construction began in 1877 on the site of a former bell tower and a communal shepherd's house, which later served as the first school; the chapel was built there in 1878. Several former functions converge at this site: the bell tower, communal shepherd's house, and school form part of the history preceding the construction of the religious building.

The sequence of the years 1877 and 1878 links local history with the chapel's construction. In this way, the religious building complements the natural themes of Dobrá Voda and Šebeň with a specific historical connection.

For cyclists, Cycle Route No. 5240 runs through Dobrá Voda and continues to Vídeň. If you include cycling, your stay can thus be extended by a route heading towards Vídeň. For planning a cycling trip, Vídeň is therefore a specific reference point, while the educational trail, at 3 km, represents a clearly defined nature-focused route.
