Discover Rynartice

Rynartice combines a striking landscape with unusual cultural traces. Forests and sandstone rock formations rise above the village, while traditional half-timbered houses, typical of this area, shape its appearance. Rynartice are considered a starting point for hiking and cycling tours in Bohemian Switzerland National Park. This makes the village particularly interesting if you want to combine experiences in nature with brief historical discoveries and clearly described hiking routes.

Rock Formations, a Chapel, and Regional History

A rock chapel on the route from Rynartice to Chřibská dates from 1697 and was restored in 1993. It adds a specific historical destination to the landscape that can be discovered along this route. Another special feature is the so-called Trpasličí skála on the road to Jetřichovice. It is protected as a cultural monument. In 1833, a local resident carved steps and reliefs of dwarfs into the rock.

During a short climb to Trpasličí skála, visitors can look for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs carved into the rock. The site thus combines a little physical activity with an engaging story that can be read directly from the rock reliefs. There is also a small car park at Trpasličí skála. Those considering Rynartice as a place to stay will therefore find a destination where nature, regional architecture, and individual cultural monuments stand closely alongside one another.

Hiking Routes around Rynartice

The Falkenštejn–Rynartice–Pavlínino údolí tour is 14 km long; the walking time is four hours. One route leads from Jetřichovice via Falkenštejn, Haťový důl, Pod Suchým vrchem, Rynartice, and Pavlínino údolí back to Jetřichovice. Jetřichovice remains both the starting point and the return point of the route. As a circular trail, it connects several fixed stops and places Rynartice within a longer day of hiking. If you are planning a longer tour with changing destinations, you can use the entire route; for a more compact circuit, the section from Rynartice to Pavlínino údolí can remain a separate part of your planning.

A Route to Pavlínino údolí

A blue-marked trail leads from Rynartice for a little over 1 km to a trail junction for Pavlínino údolí. The trail junction can serve as the turning point for the shorter section. The short distance thus contrasts with the four-hour, 14 km circuit. For a trip with limited time, the route to the junction can be planned as a manageable section. On the longer circuit, however, you should take several trail points into account as part of a continuous day plan. The two options therefore provide different time frames for a trip around Rynartice.

Getting There and Choosing Where to Stay

Bus lines 434 and 436 travel to Rynartice. This means the village can be reached by public transport as well as offering access to hiking and cultural destinations. If, on the other hand, you are comparing different starting points, the routes via Jetřichovice and Falkenštejn can serve as independent route options.
