Hostice – Hiking Trails, Landscape and History

Hostice combines hiking trails, a varied landscape and traces of a long settlement history. Hiking Trails Around Hoštice

The cadastral area of Hoštice nad Labem also includes a 460 m-long footpath from Všeraz to Hoštice and a 46 m-long section from Nebočady to Hoštice, extending to House No. 128. The 460 metres form a clearly longer section than the 46 metres to House No. 128; this scale helps with orientation without specifying a particular walking time or level of difficulty. There is also documented information for cyclists: in the 2024 update of the Ústecký kraj cycle route network, the designation “Děčín Lesná – XXXV Hoštice” is listed in the Děčín–Lesná area. Landscape and Natural Features

For the cadastral area of Hoštice nad Labem, the CHKO České středohoří and the EVL Porta Bohemica are listed as natural features and protected areas. Hoštice was one of the ten settlements that developed in the first half of the first millennium AD in connection with the Děčany tribe. The historical settlement group arose on both banks of the Labe. Its ten settlements bore the names of tribal leaders, the Vladykas.

Hrad Střekov, a castle in the vicinity of Hoštice, is another cultural point of reference. The wider regional surroundings also include the historic site of Hirniskretzschen, the ruins of Hrad Kysperk, and the Theresienstadt concentration camp and ghetto.
