Drachkov between forests and water

Drachkov is a place for days when nature, activity and local character come together closely. The village is surrounded on three sides by forests that connect to the foothills of the Šumava Mountains. The Drachkovský potok flows through the village into the village pond and continues via ponds in the Holi forest to the Otava. Around Drachkov, forests, waterways and ponds therefore form defining elements of the landscape.

In the upper reaches of the Drachkovský potok, lush vegetation with tall, vigorous plants grows along the banks. In the upper reaches, the tall plants and vigorous bank vegetation shape the watercourse as an independent, clearly visible part of the landscape. The landscape is therefore revealed not only as a backdrop for paths, but also in its wet bank areas. For a first impression, there is a short walk that takes no more than half an hour.

Trails for short and longer days

In the vicinity of Drachkov, a green-marked hiking trail leads to the 557 m-high summit of Kamenná Bába. Those looking for a longer route can follow the Drachkov hike, which is just under 15 km long. One section of this hike leads from Kraselov to Drachkov; this section is about three kilometres long.

The village of Příseky offers an additional landscape perspective: there, a turnoff about 300 m farther on provides a panoramic view to the northeast. For cycling, there is the 16 km-long Cycling Route 1, which begins and ends in Drachkov. This makes it possible to plan hiking and cycling experiences based on clearly different route lengths, without losing sight of the village as the starting and ending point.
