Nehodiv combines landscapes, nature observation and tangible evidence of local history. If you are looking for a place on your journey through the Czech Republic where an educational trail, a natural monument and cultural points of interest come together, you will find a range of themes to explore here. The spectrum extends from flora and fauna to the history of the municipalities and the landscape. This allows you to focus your visit on a theme of your choice, ranging from nature-related topics and landscape scenery to historical traces.

Stehlíkova Educational Trail and Landscape Views

The Pohoří–Myslív–Nehodiv–Loužná circular route is part of the area around the Stehlíkova Educational Trail and offers beautiful landscape views. The Stehlíkova Educational Trail has seven stations. It covers flora, fauna, and the history of the municipalities and the landscape through the writings of author Ladislav Stehlík. If you would like to combine nature and local history, the trail’s thematic focus provides a clear basis for doing so. The seven stations structure the route and make the different topics accessible as individual stages.

Dolejší dráhy Natural Monument

The Dolejší dráhy Natural Monument is located about 1 km southwest of Nehodiv on the southern side of the road to Štipoklasy. It comprises former municipal meadows with numerous protected and endangered plant species. In addition to the paths and landscape views, the area around Nehodiv therefore includes a special site with a botanical focus. This focus complements the educational trail, which covers not only flora and fauna but also the history of the municipalities and the landscape.

Chapels and Village Square

You will also find distinctive cultural and historical points of interest in the village itself. In the centre of Nehodiv stands a reconstructed chapel dedicated to Saint John of Nepomuk. A chapel dedicated to Saint John of Nepomuk, built in 1950, stands on Nehodiv village square. The shrine of Saint John of Nepomuk stands on the site of a former Baroque chapel.

An old lime tree also stands on Nehodiv village square; its trunk circumference is more than three metres, and it has stood there for almost 300 years. Alongside the site’s religious history, the lime tree provides a lasting and visible natural feature.

Stírka and the Surrounding Hills

The landscape around Nehodiv is shaped by the 706 m-high Stírka Hill. The nearby surroundings of Nehodiv include Buzrakov (Plánický hřeben), Bohdáš [Plánice-Štipoklasy], V Kopaninách [Plánice-Pohoří u Lovčic] and Hrádek [Plánice-Štipoklasy u Lovčic]. Buzrakov is a mountain; Bohdáš, V Kopaninách and Hrádek are hills. The wider regional surroundings of Nehodiv also contain the Radomysl Mediumwave Radio Mast as a ruin. The various landscape features complement the distinctive Stírka and offer different points of connection for a journey between nature and regional history. When choosing your accommodation, you can therefore consider whether you would prefer to focus your trip on the landscape around Nehodiv or on the cultural and historical points of interest in the village.
