If you are looking for a place with scenic discoveries, distinctive trees and small cultural and historical sites, Lesisov offers various ways to enjoy a stay in West Bohemia. Around Lešišov, cycling routes, hiking trails, menhirs and village monuments come together in a selection that allows you to choose between active pursuits, observing nature and short cultural stops.

Trails for cyclists and walkers

Cycling route 2091 runs through Lešišov. It is part of a 20 km route between Nalžovské Hory and Velhartice. In addition, the road from Svojšice to Mokrosuky passes through Lešišov; a cycle path runs along this road.

For a shorter hike, the Cestou menhirů trail from Mokrosuky to Lešišov is a good option. It is 6.7 km long. The 6.7 kilometres make the hike a shorter alternative to the 20-kilometre cycling route and allow for different day plans. There is also a menhir field above Lešišov. Passers-by can use the stones for taking photographs or resting after a relaxing walk. On the way to the niche chapel of Saint Martin, views open up to the north over the hills of the Svatoborské vrchoviny.

Distinctive trees and the landscape around Lešišov

A special natural feature is Lípa nad Lešišovem, a protected solitary tree in the cadastral area of Lešišov. The tree was first placed under protection on 21 June 1985. The Lešišovská lípa also has a historical story to tell: the notable tree once served as a landmark on an old road. It is also the third-largest small-leaved lime tree in West Bohemia. The two tree-related features described here give the landscape both a natural and a cultural-historical dimension.

Village square, chapel and liberation memorial

The Chapel of the Virgin Mary stands at an intersection on the village square in Lešišov. It is a plastered rectangular masonry building with a double hipped roof and an open belfry. Opposite the chapel, a liberation memorial stands at an intersection in Lešišov. It was ceremonially unveiled on 5 September 2009 and is maintained in memory of the liberation by the American army. The village square thus combines a religious building with a more recent place of remembrance.

The niche chapel of Saint Martin

At the eastern edge of the hamlet of Lešišov, a small niche chapel dedicated to Saint Martin stands on a field boundary. Its floor plan is rectangular; there are two niches in the front wall. The route there adds a section of landscape at the edge of the settlement to the village and square perspective. You can combine the chapel as a specific destination with the northern views of the Svatoborské vrchoviny.
