Accommodation in Vernířovice
Vernířovice combines a strongly rugged mountain landscape with protected natural areas, mineralogical educational trails and a history shaped by ore mining and forestry. This gives you a range of starting points for planning your trip: you can discover natural phenomena, choose trails of different lengths, plan winter sports activities or follow historical traces in the village.
Mountains and Protected Habitats
The area around Vernířovice is mountainous and strongly rugged. Its highest point is Jelení hřbet at 1,367 metres. The entire area lies within the Jeseníky Protected Landscape Area. The Břidličná Nature Reserve is a particular highlight. It protects cryogenic geomorphological formations such as rocks, stone streams, block fields and polygonal soils. It is also home to subalpine and forested habitats with springs, as well as rare, highly endangered and critically endangered plant and animal species.
The other protected areas also shape the character of the surroundings. Most of the Vernířovice area extends into the Jeseníky Bird Protection Area, which protects the habitats of the hazel grouse (Bonasa bonasia) and the corn crake (Crex crex). At its eastern edge, the area is also part of the Praděd European protected area, known for its mountain spruce forests, natural high-altitude open landscapes, rocky habitats and peat bogs. The Zadní Hutisko Natural Monument adds an abandoned, not fully exploited quarry and the second-largest Krupník body in the Czech Republic to this landscape.
Educational Trails for Active Days
The Švagrov Forest Eco-Trail is located in the nearby area. The 4.5-kilometre route includes 12 stops and is designed for pedestrians, horse riders and cross-country skiers. Another option is the Mineralogical Educational Trail. It can be divided into the 14.6-kilometre Vernířovický Circuit and the 10.7-kilometre Sobotínský Circuit. Both lengths help you compare different day plans. The educational trail is marked in both directions and also includes the “PERMONÍKOVA STEZKA” adventure trail intended for children.

The Brněnka ski area in Vernířovice has a 300-metre-long ski lift. Free parking is available there, and night skiing is also offered.
