Tištín combines a distinctive cultural history with experiences in the landscape and various opportunities for exercise and community activities. This creates a destination where historic buildings, a pond with an ecological function, a former railway track and local gathering places come together within a compact thematic area.

Cultural history between the church and the municipal gallery

An important landmark is the Parish Church of St Peter and Paul. It was built on the site of an older church between 1710 and 1719. The church and the adjoining grounds are listed as cultural monuments in the Central Register of Cultural Monuments of the Czech Republic. The Obecní besídka also offers an insight into the history of the municipality: The building was originally constructed as a chapel and later converted into a granary. Its ground floor houses a library, while the first floor contains an exhibition gallery on the history of the municipality.

The cultural character of Tištín also includes the Agricultural Technology Museum of Agrodružstvo Tištín and the Malý háječek grounds. There you will find a dance floor from the 1950s known as “betonek”. A new stage for bands and performers has also been built on the Malý háječek grounds. The former distillery building houses a restaurant where bowling can be booked by telephone. These different places represent historical traces, local agriculture and community leisure activities.

Pond, biocorridor and cycle path

The Tištín pond has a landscaped biocorridor and a biocentre for the movement of animals. At the same time, it is a destination for walks and for young people’s sporting activities in summer and winter. The pond therefore offers a tangible connection with the landscape, combining nature observation and exercise without being limited to a single season.

A different perspective is offered by the Morkovice–Nezamyslice cycle path. It was built on a disused railway track. The cycle path and the pond thus represent two clearly distinct ways of experiencing the surroundings: on the one hand, a linear route connected with the former railway, and on the other, a landscape area with a biocorridor and opportunities for walks.

Sport and community venues

Below the cycle path there is a multi-purpose sports field equipped for futsal, floorball, football, basketball, volleyball, tennis and badminton. Sokolovna can be rented for sporting, social and family events; its facilities include a kitchen, a bar and an outdoor terrace. If you would like to combine different interests during your stay, Tištín therefore offers both cultural and historical points of interest as well as documented opportunities for sport and community events.
