Suchdol combines a distinctly varied hilly landscape with historic religious buildings and routes for cyclists and hikers. If you would like to combine nature experiences, cultural discoveries and a distinctive regional landscape during your stay, you will find several clearly distinct points of interest here.

Hilly Landscape and Routes around Suchdol

Suchdol is located in the hilly section of the Drahanská vrchovina known as the Konická vrchovina. The landscape is characterised by deeply incised valleys and breakthrough valleys. As a result, a trip to Suchdol focuses not only on the village itself but also on a varied and distinctly structured landscape.

A hiking route leads towards Suchdol, runs east of Suchdol and then continues through the forest to Seč. For cycling, the 36.6-kilometre route “Za větrnými mlýny okolo Konice” is of interest. It passes through Jednov and Suchdol and operates year-round. This allows hiking and cycling to be included as different focuses in your travel planning without limiting the landscape to a single type of experience.

Pilgrimage Church, Chapels and a Historic Windmill

The pilgrimage Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary was rebuilt between 1806 and 1809. Its main altar features a wooden Pietà dating from the mid-18th century. Another special feature is located directly beneath the main altar: the original spring emerges there. This combination of architectural history, a sacred detail and a spring makes the church a cultural site with several layers.

The Mlýn Jednov windmill also represents the region’s history. It is a Dutch-type windmill built in 1842. Today, it is used privately for recreational purposes and can only be admired from a distance. The scene is complemented by smaller religious buildings: a chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk from 1885 stands on the village square in Suchdol. The chapel on the village square in Labutice is dedicated to Saint Stephen the Protomartyr. In front of the Chapel of Saint John of Nepomuk, there is also a stone cross dating from 1884.
