Discover Krumsín: Church, Nature and Cycling Routes to Plumlov Reservoir
Accommodation in Krumsín
Krumsín Between History and Landscape
Krumsín combines a cultural landmark with routes into the surrounding landscape. The Church of St. Bartholomew represents the history of the village, while hiking trails through Krumsín and cycling routes to Plumlov Reservoir offer different ways to get active. Nearby, the Kněží hora Nature Reserve adds a natural area to the village. This means that culture, walks, hikes, and cycling trips can already be considered as different priorities when planning your trip. Depending on your preferred daily rhythm, you can focus on a cultural stop, routes through the village, or a ride to the reservoir.
St. Bartholomew and Historical Evidence
The Church of St. Bartholomew features elements of Neo-Romanesque architecture. It was built in 1866–1867 on the site of a former Romanesque church. Two historical layers meet in this building: the church dates from the 19th century, while its location refers back to an earlier Romanesque church building. The main altar features a painting of St. Bartholomew by František Bsirky, created in 1867. The architecture and furnishings thus provide two distinct points of interest for a cultural stop.
A cross dating from 1835 stands in front of the church. It is listed in the Central Register of Immovable Cultural Monuments. Another historical detail is the statue of St. John of Nepomuk, a Baroque statue dating from 1748. It is life-sized and depicts the saint in traditional canonical clerical attire. The statue is freely accessible and therefore forms a separate point of interest when exploring the village.
Hiking Trails, Nature Reserve and Cycling
Hiking trails run through Krumsín and offer an active way to explore the village. The Kněží hora Nature Reserve is located nearby. It encompasses the slopes of Kněží hora and the valley of the Křenůvský potok stream. In addition to the routes in the village, the landscape therefore provides a clearly defined natural area. When planning your day, you can distinguish between routes directly through Krumsín and an excursion into the nature reserve. This allows the routes in the village and the nearby natural area to be treated as separate excursion priorities.
There is also a specific point of reference for cycling trips: cycling routes to Plumlov Reservoir run through Krumsín. This direction complements the hiking trails with a second form of activity and makes the reservoir a specific destination when planning an excursion. When choosing accommodation, you can therefore decide whether your trip should focus more on the church and historic sites or on routes through the landscape and surrounding area.
A Sporting Event
A sporting event adds a clearly dated occasion to the picture of Krumsín. On June 19, 2025, the final round of the Czech Pétanque Extraliga was played at one of two venues in Krumsín. The event complements the cultural and landscape themes with a sporting aspect.
