Drozdov combines marked trails, a multifaceted local history and the scenic surroundings of Březná Nature Park. In the nature park, the Březná and Moravská Sázava rivers have formed distinct, deep and symmetrical valleys. When planning your trip, you can therefore choose between hiking and cycling experiences in the surrounding area and cultural attractions directly in Drozdov.

Hiking Trails with Different Destinations

A yellow-marked hiking trail leads from Drozdov via Pivonín down into Růžové údolí and runs between Drozdovská Pila and Růžové údolí. Another yellow-marked route is called Cesta nepokořených and leads through Drozdov. This hiking trail also includes a branch that leads below the summit of Střemše to a preserved partisan bunker; the trail runs via Pivonín in the direction of Drozdov. The routes thus combine scenic experiences with historical discoveries, without requiring you to commit to a single destination.

Cycling through Drozdov

For a longer cycling tour, the Svébohov–Jedlí–Drozdov route is listed as 31 km long. Another cycling route follows Cycle Route 6230 to Pivonín, reaches Drozdov and then descends to Drozdovská Pila. The specific distance given for the first route and the clearly described course of the second route help you distinguish between the two options based on your own daily plans. For the first route, you should allow more time than for a short outing around Drozdov because of the 31-kilometre distance.

Nature Surrounding the Village

Březná Nature Park is characterised by the deeply incised, symmetrical valleys of the Březná and Moravská Sázava rivers. For late March, stands of a legally protected plant have been identified in wet meadows around Drozdov. This seasonal natural feature complements the marked trails with a special perspective on the landscape.

Chapel and Memorial Sites

The Chapel of Saints Fabian and Sebastian stands in Drozdov. Its present form dates from 1873. After the plague of 1714, the inhabitants of Drozdov built the chapel, giving it a special connection to the history of the village. Another memorial site is the war memorial at the Růžové údolí x Jedlí intersection. It was dedicated to the victims of the First World War; after the Second World War, another metal plaque was added. The chapel and the memorial thus represent different historical points of reference within the village.

Drozdovská Pila as a Specific Landmark

The Kemp Drozdovská Pila campsite is also of interest for planning your accommodation and daily activities: it has five wooden two-storey cabins. Hostinec u Záruby at Drozdovská Pila offers refreshments.
