Dětkovice combines rural ecclesiastical architecture, historical traces and a landscape shaped by orchards, the Plánivá hill and the adjoining Blátka Nature Reserve. During your stay, you can therefore choose between cultural discoveries in the village, walks through the landscape and regional traditions. Several destinations are located not only in the village centre, but also above Dětkovice and along the south-western cadastral boundary.

Ecclesiastical Architecture and History in the Village

The Chapel of St Anne is a valuable example of ecclesiastical architecture dating from 1835. It was built in 1835 and consecrated in 1839, and it significantly shapes the area around the village square. Dětkovice therefore offers a tangible historical landmark directly in the village. Another cultural trace is the field chapel near Dětkovice, which was built between 1711 and 1714.

Plánivá, Orchards and Panoramic Views

On Plánivá Hill above Dětkovice stand the remains of a Dutch-type windmill built between 1750 and 1800. Above the village there is also a chapel below Plánivá, among apple orchards. From there, views extend over Dětkovice, Vranovice and Určice, as well as towards Předina Hill with its transmission tower. From Dětkovice, the chapel can be reached via a field path that begins at the northern end of the village. This makes it possible to combine a visit to the village with a walk through the landscape and a viewpoint without conflating the historical character of the individual sites.

Cycling and Natural Environment

Cycle route 5041 runs through Dětkovice along a Class III road passing through the village. There are no separate cycle paths in the municipality. Anyone including the route in their plans should take this documented routing into account. The Blátka Nature Reserve adjoins the south-western cadastral boundary of Dětkovice. The protected area belongs to the cadastral territory of Vranovice-Kelčice and complements the cultural and historical sites with a natural area.

Traditions and Village Character

Fruit growing is a major branch of agricultural production in Dětkovice. The connection with the rural surroundings is also reflected in local customs: the felling of the maypole, Kácení máje, is a tradition handed down in Dětkovice to the present day. The Dětkovice Volunteer Fire Brigade organises, among other events, the ascent of Plániva, Výstup na Plánivu. If you like to combine your trip with regional folklore and a specific local event, these traditions are among the village’s distinctive facets.

Choose the Right Focus for Your Stay

When choosing accommodation, you can consider Dětkovice according to your preferred focus: the Chapel of St Anne and the field chapel represent culture and history, while Plánivá, the windmill remains, the orchards and the views define the character of the landscape. Bus connections served by two routes within the Integrated Transport System of the Olomouc Region connect Dětkovice with the surrounding settlements. This allows you to weigh up cultural, landscape and regional aspects when planning your stay.

If you would then like to consider other places for your travel selection, you can also visit Němčice Nad Hanou, Brodek U Prostějova, Stínava, Skřípov, Dobromilice, Čelčice, Zdětín and Víceměřice.
