Bušín: Valley, Nature Park and Cultural Monuments
Accommodation in Bušín
Bušín between the valley and the surrounding hills
Bušín lies in a long, elongated valley along the Bušínský potok. The highest hills in the surrounding area reach approximately 600 metres. The valley around Bušín forms the transition and dividing area between the Hanušovická vrchovina and the Zábřežská vrchovina. Those who wish to combine landscape and culture will find a place here whose distinctive features arise from the valley, the surrounding hills and the history of the village. The combination of the valley and the surrounding hills shapes the character of Bušín’s landscape. The approximately 600 metres refers to the highest hills in the surrounding area, not to a uniform elevation of the entire valley area.
Cultural monuments from different periods
A bust of T. G. Masaryk stands in the park of the former school. At the end of Bušín, a monument commemorates those who fell in both world wars. The bust and the monument thus mark two distinct sites of remembrance within the village. These two sites complement the sacred monuments with evidence of the more recent history of the village.
The sacred and art-historical monuments include the Empire-style Sousoší Kalvárie. The monument, made of grey, coarse-grained sandstone, dates from the first half of the 19th century and has been protected since May 1958. The Empire-style Sousoší Nejsvětější Trojice is a state-protected sandstone carving with folk elements; it was created in 1824. This range is complemented by the Baroque Chapel of Panny Marie Bolestné from 1718. Its presbytery was added in 1913.
