Bousín lies in the upper part of the Drahany Highlands. The surrounding area is characterised by hilly landscapes with deep, wooded ravines. Those looking for a place with nature, outdoor activities and local points of interest will find a range of opportunities here to explore the landscape actively or with a cultural interest.

Landscape and Routes around Bousín

The area around Bousín can be explored on foot. When walking, the landscape itself takes centre stage, while cycling follows a clearer course along the marked route. It is also used for cycling in summer. A marked cycling route passes through the settlement, so Bousín can also serve as a reference point for a bike ride through the hilly landscape. One specific option is the “Vzhůru na Kopaninku” cycling route: it is 14.4 kilometres long, operated in summer and considered demanding. At 14.4 kilometres and classified as demanding, it provides two concrete parameters for planning: the length and difficulty should suit the planned day of the tour.

Cycling Route and Kopaninka Lookout Tower

The “Vzhůru na Kopaninku” cycling route leads from Plumlov to the Kopaninka lookout tower. The tower is located about half a kilometre south of the centre of Repechy and has been open to the public since 2018. This makes it possible to combine different objectives when planning, without equating the characteristics of the route and the lookout point: the route is described as a demanding 14.4-kilometre route, while the lookout tower is an independent destination in the area around Repechy.

Village Culture and History

There are also specific points of interest for an exploration tour within the village itself. The Avenue of Freedom Linden Trees, planted in 1955, runs across the village square in Bousín from the cultural centre to the lower end of the village. A memorial stone commemorates the victims of the First and Second World Wars from Bousín and Repechy. In addition to events, the memorial stone brings the village’s culture of remembrance into the exploration. Since 2019, the Rajka association in Bousín has been preparing theatre performances. The Bousín Volunteer Fire Brigade organises beer festivals every year. Thus, alongside landscapes and cycling routes, village events, the culture of remembrance and a distinctive part of the village are also among the topics you can take into account during your stay.

Seasonal Differences and Travel

There is a clear limitation during the cold season: since 2006, cross-country ski trails have been groomed around Bousín when snow conditions are suitable. Cycling is explicitly associated with summer, whereas cross-country skiing requires suitable snow conditions. The trails therefore depend on the current snow conditions. Bousín can be reached by bus from Prostějov or Blansko. Depending on whether you place cycling, hiking, village culture or possible cross-country skiing conditions at the centre of your plans, different priorities will emerge for planning your trip.
