Soběšovice between the reservoir and the mountains

Soběšovice lies on the right bank of the Žermanice Reservoir, combining a clearly defined waterside landscape with views of the Moravian-Silesian Beskids. If you are looking for a place with nature, small excursion destinations and a cultural accent for your trip, the municipality offers several different points of interest. The reservoir is just as central as the views of the surrounding mountains. The location by the water and the neighboring mountains give the area two distinct landscape settings: Along the shore, immediate experiences by the lake take center stage, while the panorama directs your gaze toward the Beskids.

Water, walks and cycling trips

At the VN Žermanice–Soběšovice bathing area, pedal boats and small boats can be rented. From Soběšovice, walks and cycling trips are possible around the Žermanice Reservoir. This allows you to vary your days: Time at the bathing area can be followed by a tour along the shore, while a cycling trip offers a different perspective on the landscape. With pedal boats and small boats, the activity takes place on the water, while walks and cycling trips explore the reservoir on foot or on two wheels.

The project for a cycling path around the Žermanice Reservoir includes the municipalities of Dolní Domaslavice, Lučina and Soběšovice. The cycling path is intended for local residents' transport, leisure activities and the operation of the waterworks. For travel planning, this information should primarily be understood as an indication of the regional development of the cycling network; it describes a project rather than an additional completed route.

Panorama and observation tower

The panorama from Soběšovice toward the Moravian-Silesian Beskids stretches from Mount Javorový to Lysá Hora. A specific viewpoint is provided by the Soběšovická vyhlídková věž. It is a 17.5 m-high observation tower with a clock and viewing platform; 45 steps lead to its viewing platform. This makes it possible to combine a landscape experience with a clearly defined destination without limiting your excursion planning to a single activity.

Mount Ropička is located in the vicinity of Soběšovice. The wider regional area also includes the mountains Kyčera, Javorový and Ropica. Kończyce Małe - Zamek XV w., listed as a castle, is also located in the wider regional area of Soběšovice.

Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary

An unusual cultural highlight is the Church of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary. It is one of the few churches in the Czech Republic built in the 1950s. It was completed in October 1961 and consecrated on October 27, 1961. The main altar comes from Vidnava, from the chapel of the former seminary. It is precisely the combination of a comparatively recent construction history and the altar's older place of origin that makes the church a subject in its own right alongside the reservoir and the landscape.
