Návsí – Discover Nature, Trails and History
Accommodation in Navsi
Between the Olše Valley and the Border Ridge
Návsí combines nature, marked trails and traces of history within a compact area. Around Návsí, two mountain ranges are separated by the broad valley of the Olše. The wide valley shapes not only the panorama but also the transition between protected natural areas and mountain trails. If you would like to combine landscape experiences with culture on your trip, this contrast provides a clear starting point for your choice.
Filipka is a protected natural monument in the cadastral area of Návsí u Jablunkova. It protects a 1.0642-hectare pasture with common juniper trees of varying ages. Rohovec is also a protected natural monument; there, the habitat of wood ants is the main focus. Filipka and Rohovec emphasise different aspects: here, the protected area is characterised by pasture and juniper, while there, the focus is on the habitat of wood ants.
Hiking and Cycling with Fixed Points of Reference
The tourist and natural-history Halamova Trail starts from Návsí and is approximately 20 km long. On the border ridge with Poland, it connects to yellow-, red- and blue-marked hiking trails. The approximate length of the route helps you distinguish this trail from shorter excursions or more extensive tour planning.
Cycle Route No. 10 Olza–Olše runs through Návsí between Jablunkov and Třinec. It is part of a long-distance main cycle route that leads from the Polish border to Chotěbuž. For another activity, there is a local reservoir where fishing is possible with the required permit.
Church, Fortification and Emaus
The Evangelical Church of Návsí is a single-nave brick building in the Empire style. Its construction began in 1817, and it was consecrated in 1820. Návsí is also home to the remains of the small medieval fortification of Zámčisko. The church and Zámčisko thus lead through two different periods of the locality’s history.
The former Evangelical school is now called Sborový dům Emaus and has served the general public for educational and recreational stays since the 1990s. The building has five rooms with a total of 20 beds and two common rooms. When choosing accommodation, you can therefore weigh up different priorities for your stay without separating nature, activities and local history from one another.
More Experiences in Návsí
A military centre was opened in Návsí, originally combining two independent projects: the Military History Archive of Cieszyn Silesia and a private collection of heavy military equipment. Visitors could admire tanks, military trucks and a newly built bunker there. The Návsí paintball area offers paintball in natural surroundings as well as well-maintained grounds and equipment.
Getting there is also a point of reference in its own right: International express trains from Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Poland stop in Návsí.
