Čeladná: Nature, Routes and Culture
Accommodation in Čeladná
Čeladná between challenging routes and special discoveries
Čeladná combines varied paths, forest landscapes and distinctive cultural sites with activities for different interests. Those looking for accommodation in Čeladná can choose between long routes with significant elevation differences, shorter paths, experiences in the forest and historic chapels. The character of the town becomes particularly vivid in the contrast between sporting excursions and tranquil cultural monuments.
Routes for different levels
The Portášskými chodníčky route leads from Čeladná to Rožnov. It is challenging, 22.5 km long and has significant elevation differences. This clearly distinguishes it from Po stopách Černých myslivců, a moderately difficult, 16 km route from Čeladná to Martinák, which is also characterized by significant elevation differences.
Shorter and easier is Za unikátní architekturou: the route is 4.5 km long and runs through Čeladná. Its theme focuses on distinctive architecture, while the two longer routes are characterized more strongly by their length, destination and significant elevation differences.
Forest, downhill rides and equestrian experiences
Lanový park Čeladná is a high-ropes course in the trees in the forest right next to the Boboffka. Four courses with varying levels of difficulty make the facility a versatile destination for a shared outing, accommodating different ability levels. The Boboffka takes passengers up to 620 m above sea level and has an 824 m-long descent.
The grounds of RC Čeladná are also located in a mature forest park at the foot of the Ondřejník Massif. Prosper Horse Ranch offers a different kind of nature experience: Western riding lessons are available near the Čeladná Rehabilitation Centre. The riding facility also offers horseback rides into the surrounding countryside. The experiences described therefore include forest-based activities, a downhill ride and equestrian experiences, each with its own focus.
Chapels, a church and the history of Lázně Skalka
The Church of Saint John of Nepomuk in Čeladná was opened in 1789. At the entrance to the cemetery grounds by the church stands a cast-iron cross dating from 1834. Another distinctive landmark is the log chapel of Saints Cyril and Methodius at the upper end of the municipality of Čeladná on the road to Podolánky. The chapel was built in 1936.
The wooden Chapel of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Čeladná was consecrated in 1904. The BRC grounds with this chapel are freely accessible. Another architectural feature is the chapel of the Čeladná Golf Club: it stands on the PGA Course near the tee of hole 18. The original Lázně Skalka, founded in 1902 by MUDr. Jan May, add to the cultural character of the area. These historical details show different sides of the town without reducing it to a single attraction.
