Those considering Bukovec U Jablunkova as a travel destination will find an interesting combination of cycling routes, protected forest landscapes and cultural experiences in Písek. The surrounding area can be explored particularly well along Cycling Route 56. It connects Košařiska, Milíkov, Jablunkov, Písek and Bukovec, thereby bringing several places together along a single route.

Cycling between Bukovec, Písek and Jablunkov

In Písek, Cycling Route 56 intersects Route 6086. It then continues across a bridge over the Olše to Bukovec. This makes it possible to experience the route not only as a connection between individual places, but also as a transition between roads, the river landscape and built-up areas. Another option for choosing a route is the Olše Cycling Route, which follows Road II/474 through Písek to Jablunkov. Those who want to compare different sections of the routes can distinguish between Route 56, with its connection to Bukovec, and the route along the Olše to Jablunkov. The two routes therefore have different focuses: Route 56 connects several places, while the Olše Cycling Route follows Road II/474 and the route to Jablunkov.

Plenisko: Forest on the southern slope of the Silesian Beskids

The Plenisko Nature Reserve lies on the southern slope of the Silesian Beskids below the Kyčera summit. It includes numerous waterlogged areas, meaning wet areas within the protected area, as well as the source area of the Bystrý Stream, which originates there.

Plenisko protects natural, primeval-forest-like woodland containing autochthonous, meaning originally native, firs, beeches, spruces and sycamore maples.

The protected landscape of the Olše

The Olše European protected area is also part of the regional orientation. It covers the cadastral area of Písek u Jablunkova. The protected habitats include mixed ash-alder floodplain forests of the temperate and boreal regions of Europe; floodplain forests are forests associated with river landscapes. Unlike the forest areas of Plenisko, the Olše landscape is defined by floodplain forest and the course of the river.

Písek between architecture and tradition

A new, architecturally interesting church was founded in Písek in 2009. The building was completed one year later, in 2010.

Another living tradition is the pilgrimage celebration in honour of the Divine Mercy. It takes place in Písek on the first Sunday after Easter. Its connection with Easter makes the date moveable: depending on the date of Easter, the first Sunday after Easter falls on a different calendar date. Those who want to combine their stay with a cultural occasion will therefore find a specific date in the annual calendar, while the cycling routes and protected areas offer other ways to explore the region.

An additional connection to Polanka

From Písek, a paved forest road leads through the woods to the Polanka recreational centre.
