Prague Food Festival 2008
The Prague Food Festival will be held for the second time from 20 to 22 June 2008. For 2008, the Vltava island of Slovanský ostrov has been chosen as the “venue”, where 37 of the Czech Republic’s best chefs will serve delicacies. Only chefs from restaurants ranked among the TOP 100 in the independent Maurerův výběr GRAND RESTAURANT 2008 guide will be preparing Czech specialties at the Prague Food Festival.

In 2008, the Prague Food Festival promises to be a true culinary event. Every day, the historic rooms of Žofín Palace will host live cooking demonstrations on a range of themes by the finest Czech and international chefs. Andrea Accordi of the Four Seasons Hotel’s Allegro restaurant, holder of Prague’s new, glittering Michelin star, will of course be cooking too. Another highlight is the presentation by the sommelier of Bohemia Sekt, featuring a pairing of wine and food.
In Prague, as throughout the Czech Republic, music and good food go hand in hand. In 2008, the Prague Food Festival will present Latin American sounds. The musicians of “Tam-Tam Batucada” and “Pragasón” will add South American rhythms to the festival, while “Botafogo” will perform a mix of folk and bossa nova. A fashion show by renowned designer Liběna Rochová has been specially prepared for the Prague Food Festival. For romantic visitors to Prague, the boat rental service right on Slovanský ostrov offers trips along the Vltava.
Visiting the Prague Food Festival 2008 won’t cost travellers much: admission is CZK 350 (€14), including CZK 250 (€10) worth of food and drink.
