Czech Airlines

Czech Airlines was founded as a state-owned airline in 1923. Czech Airlines (sometimes also called ČSA Czech Airlines) has been based at Prague-Ruzyně Airport in the Czech Republic ever since. Since October 2000, the airline has been a member of the global SkyTeam airline alliance, the world's third-largest airline alliance, whose members include Alitalia, Air France, Delta Air Lines and Aeroflot. In the 1920s, the airline was responsible for routes within Czechoslovakia. International flights were not added to its schedule until the 1930s. After World War II, Czech Airlines was the only airline to resume regular air service in the Czech Republic. Its first transatlantic flight took place in the 1960s. Czech Airlines is one of the world's oldest airlines still in operation and enjoys an excellent reputation for safety and service.

Czech Airlines is a traditional scheduled airline. Its ancillary business activities include charter flights for tour operators and a small cargo division. Since September 2007, Czech Airlines has operated in the no-frills airline segment through its specially established subsidiary, Click4sky. Click4sky sells flight tickets exclusively online. Czech Airlines itself is already a very low-cost airline, however, so this venture is probably more of a tactical than a strategic investment.

From its home airport at Prague-Ruzyně, the airline serves most European capitals and major cities, as well as several important destinations in North America. Routes to the Middle East and North Africa are also included in its schedule. In total, you can fly with Czech Airlines to 104 airports in 44 countries around the world.

In the 1990s, Czech Airlines switched aircraft types. Only a few Soviet-built Aero aircraft remain in regional service. Today, it operates Airbus and Boeing aircraft.

From Germany, Prague-Ruzyně Airport can currently be reached with Czech Airlines from eight different departure airports.
