One of the most beautiful sights of Prague, St. Vaclav Square (Václavské námÄ›stí) for one day in September will become the center of bright and lush celebrations in honor of the most revered historical figure, the faithful Czech prince of an ancient PÅ™emysl clan, the defender and protector of the Czech Republic - St. Vaclav.

Svatý Václav holiday will be celebrated throughout Prague on September 28 filling every corner of Prague with music concerts, religious performances in beautiful churches of the city and the traditional Czech fairs.

Celebration of the St. Vaclav festival in Prague will include St. Vaclav Music Festival. Musical concerts and works of the Czech composers and religious presentations devoted Catholicism, Orthodoxy and Judaism will be held in the churches of Prague.

Musical performances will take place on the stages of such amazing cultural and historical sights of Prague as Gothic St. Vitus Cathedral (Katedrála svatého Víta) of the XI century, where are located the tombs of the Bohemian kings and the repository of the coronation regalia, built in 920 the oldest Church of Prague Castle - St. George’s Basilica (Bazilika svatého JiÅ™í); built in the XIII century and now a part of the Prague National Gallery Convent of St. Agnes of Bohemia.

As part of the celebration of St. Vaclav Day in the cozy old Prague Castle restaurant Villa Richter will be held the festival of wine and gastronomy. It will gather Czech winemakers from all over the country. Visitors of the Wine Festival will be able not only to taste and buy the best Czech wines, but also taste the famous Czech "Burchak" - young wine, or rather partially fermented grape juice, which is usually used in the active stage of fermentation.

Food-lovers will also find a plenty of entertainment at the celebration of St. Vaclav Day in Prague. At the wine and gastronomy festival in the Prague Castle the guests will be able not only to taste Czech wines, but also try different Czech dishes, from a whole roasted pig to the traditional Czech pastries.

Also the guests of the day of St. Vaclav in Prague can enjoy the traditional Czech fairs, knight fights and magical fire show.
