Beer Festival in Prague

Beer Festival in Prague
Beer Festival in Prague in May is considered to be the largest Czech beer event

During 17 days (from 12.05. to 28.5.2011) in ancient Prague will be held the third Czech Beer Festival. Despite such a young age, this festival has already become popular. It is confirmed by the fact that compared with last year the scope of the festival (the number of people, beers and brewers) grew by more than 2 times. Festival itself, as in previous two times, will take place in the northern outskirts of Prague in the exhibition complex Letňany. It will house 8 large halls, which can simultaneously serve about ten thousand people. In each pavilion will installed a stage for performances of musical groups of various styles, from rock to ethnic music. Festival guests will be invited to taste more than 70 Czech beers, including such famous brands as Gambrinus, Master, Bernard, Ferdinand, Svijany, Rohozec and many others.

Some breweries especially for the Czech Beer Festival will release a limited batch of beer that will not be available in retail trade. In addition, visitors can enjoy specialties from chefs of famous Prague restaurants "Svejk Restaurant","Kolkovna" or "Intercatering". Menu in each tent will be unique, but on the street in front of the tents you will be able to try roasted beef steak, provided especially for the festival by the popular gastronomic firm Reznictvi Libor Novak. Visitors of the festival will be served by 300 waiters in national costumes. For convenience, the beer festival will has its own currency - Beer Thaler (40 euros). In addition to beer and food for Talers you can buy official souvenirs (half-liter mugs, beer glasses and T-shirts with the logo of the festival).

Critics have called the Czech Beer Festival "the largest Czech gastronomic event of the year".
